Solar Power is Cheaper than Utility Power

Installing a solar power system is equivalent to prepaying for 40 years of power at a fraction of the cost you are currently paying. The cost/unit of energy you are currently paying is higher than what you would be paying with solar. As rates increase in the future this difference will increase, leading to even more savings over the life of the system.

The state of California currently offers two financial incentives. The California Energy Commission (CEC) offers a sizable rebate. In addition you can benefit from a 7.5% state income tax credit. Together these two incentives pay for 30-40% of the total system cost.
